Colorado Hunting Units

Colorado is one of the more diverse states to hunt. Not only does it offer trophy quality tags on a "wait your turn" to draw preference points system, it also has a lot of opportunities for yearly hunts on the 3 major species: Elk, Deer, and Antelope. Whether you're drawing from the draw with no points, drawing as a secondary choice, or taking advantage of the over-the-counter tags available for Elk and Deer, the western part of the state is dominated with public lands allowing you to roam free. The only draw back with this easy to draw approach to some units is the amount of hunters that will be in the unit with you. However, applying smart tactics and taking advantage of the vast wilderness on both BLM and Forest Service open to both Residents and Non-Residents alike make opportunities open to the smartest hunters.
